Evan Madden-Peister
Evan Madden-Peister was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. At an early age he was exposed to and influenced by the many cuisines that New York City has to offer; French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Moroccan, Brazilian, Dominican, Mexican, Ethiopian, and the classic Jewish cuisine of the Lower East Side—they all played a role in shaping his love for merging tastes, textures, and seasonal ingredients to create his own unique culinary style.
After graduating from the University of Rochester with a BA in History, Evan returned to New York City to ponder a career in the culinary world. His roots drew him back to New York’s food scene, and in January of 2005 he enrolled at the French Culinary Institute.

Cutting his teeth with two of New York’s premier catering companies, Tentation and Olivier Cheng & Co., Chef Evan hails from the kitchens of The Harrison and the executive dining service at The Sony Club. With all of this experience in his wake, Evan has chosen to take the personal chef route, and now works for various private clients all over New York. His experiences as a New Yorker and a chef have helped shape his eclectic ‘New American’ style of cuisine which matches the freshest seasonal ingredients with the personal needs of each and every client.
